    Never Texas. Grr.

  2. jenifer January 8th, 2009 10:23 am

Oh, you have no idea how tempting it is to spend a few days in Cincinnati in February. Karen Rose will be signing at Jo Beth just two days before you all will be there!

Awesome! I should be able to make either the Dayton or the Hamilton signing - depending on CherryBomb availability.

Very gratifying to be living in SW OH this year, since you’re not going any further.

You do know that it’s a balmy 70 degrees here in Arizona in February??? Hint hint, wink wink nudge nudge.

  5. WapakGram January 10th, 2009 3:21 am

Do you think you should tell Lani and Krissie about the Cherry Bombs or just let them find out for themselves?

  6. Chari-Dee January 10th, 2009 10:55 pm

I see no Kansas on here. Sigh. Kansas ALWAYS gets shunned.

  7. Jenny January 10th, 2009 11:11 pm

We’re doing driving distance from Cincy. We’re not shunning, we’re just not driving that far.

As for the CBs, I think they should experience that in its full glory for themselves.

Don’t feel bad, Kansas and Texas folks. California NEVER gets them at all. No book signings. Ever. Well, sometimes down south, but never here in the Central Valley/Bay Area… You would think they would schedule things for my area–lots of readers and writers here. And LOTS of Cherries.

  9. Sheryl January 11th, 2009 5:17 pm

Lani has had a hint of the CBs in NJ a couple of years ago.

I hate to tell you ladies, but few authors are going far on tour these days. Everyone’s feeling the recession, including publishers (who pay for these things). The author tours I’m seeing this year are scaled back and sometimes just close to the author’s home.

In my case, it’s not SMP being cheap, it’s me refusing to get on a plane again unless I absolutely have to. I’m driving everywhere these days. I spend way too many hours in airports in the first part of my career to ever want to do that again.

Yes, I’m a slug. On the other hand, when I stay home, I write.

How very nice for Kentucky and Ohio, but I really would prefer a tour on the same continent as me (moan, whine).

  13. McB January 14th, 2009 8:31 pm

    Glory, that’s us.

  14. McB January 15th, 2009 3:17 pm

Actually, Lani has met a few CherryBombs, too. I’m not sure what it says that they co-wrote with Jenny anyway.

Jenny, I don’t blame you for not wanting to get on an airplane again. Every time I fly I think, “they can’t possible make this more uncomfortable.” And then they do. When even my short self has an issue with leg room, it’s bad.

  15. Brenda Bradshaw January 15th, 2009 10:44 pm

It’s really okay that you don’t go to Texas because there’s always Nationals.

I’m so easy to please sometimes. I should print a shirt that says that so others will believe it too.

  16. Nina January 22nd, 2009 10:06 am

Jenny, you should do like John Madden and get a tricked out bus. He calls his the Madden Cruiser. I’ll leave it to you to do all the bad puns.

  17. Olga January 22nd, 2009 11:37 am

How about this…you could drive all the way down to Florida, take a cruise through the Caribbean and stop in Puerto Rico. That way you could have a book tour here and you wouldnt have to fly. It wouldnt be cheaper, but still no getting on a plane to get here. Sorry. Wishful thinking on my part.

Need another stop on the world tour? One word…UTAH! Yeah, we’ve got everything here! Hey, our newest tourism motto is “Life Elevated!” (as opposed to “We’re Almost a Rectangle”) C’mon… I can get you a free membership in one of our “Social Clubs”…along with all the green Jell-o you can stand. :)

  21. Jenny February 5th, 2009 1:57 am

Utah. It sounds . . . Mormon. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

I like that “We’re Almost a Rectangle.” It shows strength of character and a willingness to face reality.

  22. Stacia February 9th, 2009 4:05 pm

You can drive to New Jersey! It’s not that far. Even upstate/eastern PA as long as you come somewhere near the Delaware river. Please? I’ll beg.

  23. Kelly February 12th, 2009 4:51 pm

    Any chance for Toledo, OH?

  24. Kelly February 12th, 2009 4:57 pm

So, I just read the description of the book on the Books & co. page. They apparently got it from St. Martin’s Press. Someone should totally have proof-read that first. It has Kami as a odd little woman who is a teacher’s assistant who serves the 3 goddesses punch, all the dogs are unruly {so not true, just Bailey}, and Kammani is a male god.
