Update

No, we didn’t fall in a hole. Lani and Krissie just spent a week at my house and it was wonderful and we did nothing but talk and watch movies and play with Lani’s kids and go out to eat and to the Aquarium . . . we were slothful.

But now Lani wants to redesign this site, get it up to speed since we have to start promoting the book this winter. (I think it has a Feb pub date, but I can’t remember. Yes, I am a professional.) So any ideas you have for making this site better, let us know. Besides posting more often. We know that one.

In other news:

Chapter Three is coming up as soon as I have time to format it and then that’s all, folks. At least for actual text.

We have a cover. We’ll post it shortly. Like tomorrow maybe. We love it although one of us (cough Lani cough) has reservations.

And the cover has a tagline, but we’re not sure what to do about the contest since nobody’s entry won (Jen sent us an idea and we changed it and she changed it and we changed one word and we had it). Any suggestions you have for solving that would be good, too.

We’re going to be getting up to speed again soon. At any moment. Maybe tomorrow. Really.

You were busy being goddesses ;-)

Once we see the cover art it’ll be easier to murgle about the website.

Since you didn’t use anyone’s title, how about you gals just do a random drawing of title posters to pick a winner?

Can’t wait for ch. 3 OR the cover.

Do I get a vote? My vote would be that you make a gift of the lovely tea set, from all the readers here to the beautiful Callie. The thought that she might someday use that set to hostess tea parties with the grandma who bakes cookies and tells wonderful stories . . . that thought makes me happy.

I have a suggestion for the website in terms of the layout. I not sure what color the boarder is (peach, tan?) but I think something a little less bland would be better. Maybe you could use a similar color scheme that appears on the book cover. I thought it would be cool to not only have they dogs on the layout but maybe a symbol or item that represents the three female characters as well. Hope this helps.

With all due respect to Lani, I absolutely love the cover. And the tagline. But especially the cover.

Slothful is great and necessary every so often.

The cover is nice and I love the tagline. I’d use both as the main aspect of the website, (not that I don’t like this one). But it helps with recognition, etc. to use the cover art. And it is jazzy.

I don’t think you should worry about doing a random drawing for the contest. Most of us just enjoy doing it because then we don’t have to work on our own manuscripts. It’s like, “Oh Jenny needs a tagline. Must get to that right away.”

Can you put a link at the bottom of your website Jenny, for D&G?

I’m begging you to change the color of your text–teal on chocolate is sooooooo hard to read :-)
(That’s the way it comes up on my screen….)

Lois, the whole site is about to change, probably in January. It’s black on cream for my monitor, so I had no idea there was a problem. But help is on the way.
