Yay! (Is that followed by the collapse on the sofa with chocolate?)

    Way to go, Ladies!

  2. Catherine January 13th, 2008 4:01 pm

Congratulations. You ran hard, you ran well.

I figure the joy of this step, would spin you into actual snoopy dance…not just feeling snoopy on the inside…which begs the question what’s the look on your dogs faces when you break into a snoopy dance?

  3. Jenny January 13th, 2008 4:23 pm

    They dance, too.

It happens most often in the kitchen, if I’m cooking or baking and I taste something. Sometimes it’s so good I do this kind of hip cha cha in place and then they cha cha, too, jumping and barking.

We’re happy people here in general.

Congratulations! Oh to be a beta on this book, I’ll bet it’s great.

  5. Diane (TT) January 13th, 2008 5:42 pm

Geez, I wish my cooking was that good! Many congratulations - on the cooking, the dogs, the finishing and, especially, the happiness!

  6. Caryn January 13th, 2008 5:54 pm

    That’s fantastic! Congratulations!

  7. Louis January 13th, 2008 7:05 pm

    Way to go!

Closer to getting the book in my hands.

  8. Micki January 13th, 2008 10:32 pm

Oh, many congratulations! But in a way, it’s a little sad for us blog-followers, because now it’s in the hands of the professionals. Sniff )-:. You don’t need us anymore.

But yay! It’ll be in print . . . before the end of the year? Maybe? Nov. would be a great release date — just in time for Christmas gifts. Although, July would be handy for my relatives shopping for b-day gifts . . . .

    Hee-hee! I’m such a selfish blog-follower.

  9. KC January 13th, 2008 11:04 pm

Wow, that seems so fast. Or maybe I’m just so old that time flies nowadays. congrats!

  10. Jenny January 14th, 2008 1:08 am

No, it was fast. We’re all in shock. Those three big squooshy bangs you heard last night were three heads exploding.

And we have no idea when it’ll be published. We will keep posting here. I’m still doing research and I’ll probably put my collaboration research up here, too. And then we’re talking about the sequels, should anybody want one. We have such good ideas (g).

  11. JulieB January 14th, 2008 4:40 pm

Yay! It’s closer to our hot little hands….

  12. CrankyOtter January 14th, 2008 6:11 pm

Wow that was fast! I’m taking a page from Jenny’s blog and collaging my design/renovation ideas for my condo. I think you three wrote this whole first draft faster than I could glue bits of paper together. (Although the collage is turning out very cool, I could use someone else to interperet it. Pink seems to be sneaking into my orange-green-purple decor.)

  13. Jenny January 14th, 2008 6:35 pm

Leave out the green. Orange, pink (red), and purple is an analagous color scheme. Then use the green as accents because it’s the complement of the color in the middle, red.

  14. Charlene Teglia January 14th, 2008 10:27 pm

    Wild applause!

  15. Kira January 15th, 2008 3:08 am

Does that mean we don’t get no more previews … ?

    First chapter, maybe?

    Please?

    Loyally yours,

    Another selfish blog-follower

  16. Micki January 15th, 2008 5:11 am

(-: Hee-hee! I’ll start saving my pennies for the sequels.

  17. JulieB January 16th, 2008 4:02 pm

Jenny, will you come over and help me pick out paint colors? I’ve been waiting to paint this house so long I’ve already discarded two color schemes….

  18. Mariyn K January 21st, 2008 2:18 am

Okay, sorry for a stupid question from a (reader only, and a lurker). What is a beta. I have a beta fish. It attacks anything in it’s tank. Betas will not eat your first draft will they?

Congrats to you, Krissie, and Lani.

    Can’t wait to read it.

  19. K.L. January 22nd, 2008 8:15 pm

My understanding is that Beta readers are preselected people who read the book and provide feedback: story line, continuity errors, overall impression, things they really liked or disliked, etc…

  20. Mariyn K January 22nd, 2008 11:27 pm

Thanks K.L. I finally looked up beta in wiki dictionary. It defines as: preliminary, prerelease; refers to an incomplete version of a product released for initial testing.

Guess my idea of a beta was not to far off. But this is Jenny and Krissie and Lani; so no chewing it up and spitting it out. Because they are too fabulous and talented.

  21. Diane L. January 23rd, 2008 1:19 pm

This is great. I can’t wait!!!

  22. Jenny January 25th, 2008 12:48 pm

Sorry about the color bit. Years as an art teacher. Makes me didactic. Although people did use to bring me to see when paint went wrong and I helped figure it out. Those were the days.

Yes, as we struggle through beta feedback which IS a lot like something savage tearing up the book, and rewrite the whole book, we will eventually but up the first one or two chapters since you all have been with us for so long. But at the moment, we’re still deep in rewrites. The betas/first readers are tough which is exactly what we need.

I know the Jonestown discussion was a loooooong time ago, but I just heard this and figured if anybody could use an inappropriate Jonestown joke, it was Jenny….

Why are there no jokes about Jonestown?
Because the punch line is too long.

  24. Jenny January 30th, 2008 1:07 pm

    Do not encourage Lani.

  25. Office Wench Cherry January 30th, 2008 1:50 pm

That’s really bad, annie. Funny but really bad.

    Seriously bad.
