D&G: The Logo

And we have the official D&G bakery logo which we’re insane about. Mara Lubell rocks.

The idea is that the Three take over Abby’s grandmother’s bakery and make it into a coffeehouse/meeting place, and as part of the makeover, they have a logo designed for mugs and aprons and the sign on the front windows and other advertising things. So the main logo is just the first one, the type, but there’s also an icon logo for more ornate uses:

We love them.  And the dog paws as lotus?  Genius.

Mesopoterrific! That’s an awesome logo. (I am having an up-too-late moment and want to call you all Mesopotamaniacs. But I won’t.)

I think that’s Mesopotamiacs. I’m up too late, too.

I get so sucked in by good artwork for businesses. If I saw the Goddesses with hips, the steaming coffee and a baked good on their head, I’d be in there in a flash.Dog paws ala lotus blooms would be the icing.

    Gorgeous. Give me a cake.

I am so proud. Heh. I caught the dog paws all on my own, only I was thinking of papyrus. I can see those three doing a kind of cha cha thing to your theme song, the one for the chant, that is.

    I’m loving those goddess figures.
    Mara is obviously a genius.

    It’s fantastic - love it!

And now I want cupcakes. *sigh*

So does this collaboration warrant dog paw tattoos? I don’t know if it’d work though–I bet Lani’s a screamer.

You know I love you to pieces, Lani! *blowing kisses*

    So much fun!

It’s very lovely, especially the curvy Goddesses.

When do the mugs come out? ;-)

  12. Lani January 10th, 2008 2:55 pm

LOL, Pam. No, you’re right. I’m a screamer. I can definitely do temporary tatoos, though… :)

Fabulous!! Mara is a creative genius!! I’m so impressed!!

  14. Sheryl January 10th, 2008 5:56 pm

Ooo, ooo, I want a mug. And an apron and a tee-shirt and memo pad and a muffin. I’m sure cafepress can take care of those for me. Okay, maybe not the muffin. I’ve been looking for my very own muffin since Faking It. Crusie has too much influence in my life. But I have some temporary paw tattoos for Lani(a perk of my day job).

The paw print flowers are genius. Absolute genius.

    So happy for you!

What Sheryl says. Me too! (But not the tattoo part. I do have a felt-tip marker, though…)

  17. Louis January 10th, 2008 8:09 pm

    I’m repeating myself…but…

    WOW! WOW! WOW!

There are so many ways in which these designs are genius, I won’t even begin to comment, ‘cuz I may not stop.

    Mara rocks!

    It’s just excellent!

As far as I’m concerned, your Mara is the best graphic artist of the millenium. Even her also rans are genius. Her work for your previous stuff blows away genius. And this is just fabulous too. Goddess, she’s good.

Oooh, oooh! Just saw this over at Argh Ink — beautiful there, beautiful here.

But I want to say — temporary tatoos — pure genius! Can CafePress come up with D&G Mara-designed henna stencils? Or better yet, henna-inspired tatoos. I don’t know where I’d put them that would be attractive, yet respectful, though. If you do go through with it, placement hints for the tatoo-idiot would be much appreciated.
