September 30

Krissie was on deadline, so Lani and I talked about life and business and other things and none of it is printable for public consumption.   I never once said, “So, Mesopotamia.”  Really, we’re pathetic.

But it’s October now.  We’re getting our acts together.  Really.

As much as I’ve been missing the updates, I understand that a good vacation or bout of business travel can derail projects faster than just about any other thing I know. All the other stuff is just static that gets in the way, until you go on vacation, then you loose your groove and the static fills in and…. This is all to say, cut yourself some slack because you’re human and not pathetic. And I want more goddess and dog action but only if you’re going to love it, at least most of the time.

TGIO! I’m so glad September is over. Tough month.

There are no pathetic people here! This should be a pathetic-free zone. So there. And no worries, we’re all trying to stay one step ahead of our non-pathetic hectic lives. I think Bob and company are the only ones taking a leisurely vacation. Lucky them.

Take a break and get to know your inner Little Debbie.

Bob’s unpacking his moving van. Bitterly.

And Krissie and Lani are coming to work intensively on D&G in two weeks, so we’ll be back on track there. It’s these deadlines for proposal and books under contract that’s slowing us down. If we didn’t have to make a living, we could be writing this book . . .

Did Bob pack and drive his own van? Geez. That’s why there are young men in their 20s.

Not that Bob isn’t CAPABLE of packing, etc. (obviously he is), but surely his time is better spent writing us books!

Jenny, I just picked up an older book titled, The Alphabet Versus the Goddess by Leonard Schlain. Thought you might be interested in reading for your research. If you aren’t already fully overloaded. Amazon has a good description on it.

And does it bug you when strangers offer suggestions for your research or writing?

O.K. - now my curiousity has been tweaked.

Bitterly??? What, he doesn’t like physical labor?? It was not his idea to move to Seattle?? He doesn’t like trucks?? Hannah has tripped him several times??

Details, Jenny. You can’t leave us hanging like this.
